Connection fee due to
alarm call ? |
|
|
|
|
|
|
bébétel®/EasyAlarm® only start a call in case
an alarm condition is detected. The connection fee
is depending on different factors: called alarm number (local call/distance
call/mobile call etc.),
connection time or if it calls on a working day or weekend. If the
number of the calling party is
displayed, you can decide to answer the call or just to reject the
call (to reduce the connection fee).
Pay attention to not divert rejected calls to an answer-ingmachine.
Calling number display
If the alarm goes to a mobile phone or an ISDN-telephone the number
of the calling party is displayed.
You can decide to answer or to disconnect the call .
Note:
In some countries (e.g. Germany) you must enable the calling number
identification (please
contact your operating company).

bébétel®/EasyAlarm® is designed to connect to
the analogue telephone line.
Note:
We recommend to select a special subscriber number (MSN) for the bébétel®/EasyAlarm®
-port
different from you main-number.
NT1+2ab-terminal (Switzerland)
If you use bébétel®/EasyAlarm® in combination
the ISDN-network-terminator NT1+2ab (Network-
Terminator) you must connect the alarm unit to one of the analogue
ports (a/b1) or (a/b2).
ISDN-private exchange
Connect bébétel®/EasyAlarm® to one of the
analogue ports of your private exchange. If your
private exchange does not support an analogue port you probably
can connect it to an analogue
port of your ISDN-terminal equipment (modem, telephone) or you have
to buy an interface
converter (So<->a/b)
Plug-connection: FCC-Connection
Please refer the type-label on the back-side of your unit. With
the type-label you will find the
correct plug-connection.

Mobile use (without
fixed-lines network) ? |
|

|
|
If there is no fixed-line telephone-network you can use bébétel®/EasyAlarm®
in combination with:
- For bébétel®-customers: Use a bébételMOBILE
- a GSM-mobile-terminal (GSM-Interface)
- a DECT-terminal that can be integrated into a GAP-standard
DECT-base station

bébétel®/EasyAlarm® are approved for European
countries (CTR-21) and for USA/Canada (FCC).
So you are able to use it worldwide. Please not that there are different
telephone-adapters for
different countries. We recommend to buy a special traveller-adapter-set.
Please check your unit
identification label on the back-side of your unit to see what PIN-out
is used.

Use in combination with
an answering machine ? |
|
|
|
|
|
|
EasyAlarm®:
Select the number of ringing-cycles of the answering machine higher
than EasyAlarm®
(e.g. 4 ringing-cycles)
Note:
EasyAlarm® is programmed to a two-step dial-in. An incoming
call will only answered after
an aborted call (let it ring 2-times, disconnect, wait 20 seconds,
dial again) and the number of
programmed ringing-cycles (default=2).
bébétel®:
The factory-setting is: the monitor answers a call after two ringing
cycles. The caller has 15
seconds time to enter the PIN-code. When the PIN-code is wrong or
the PIN-code is not
entered within this period the monitor automatically disconnects.
If you want to use the monitor together with an answering machine
you have to adapt ringing
cycles of both units (monitor an answering machine). How to program
ringing cycles for monitor
see use instruction, for answering machine please consult user guide
of this unit. If you
adapted both units for the same ringing cycles, you can dial in
and enter PIN-Code within 15
seconds to monitor the room. A caller who does not enter PIN-Code
within 15 seconds will only
hear the spoken message of your answering machine and will not know
that the monitor has
automatically disconnected due to PIN-code time-out. To avoid this
problem we advise to pro-
gram a shorter ringing cycle for the monitor by a difference of
at least 3 ringing cycles.

a private exchange (hotel) ? |

|
Select dialling method:
bébétel®/EasyAlarm® is factory set to tone-dialling
(DTMF). If you have to change dialling method
(for example if you have an old private exchange that only support
pulse-dialling) you can proceed
as follows:
- Shift function switch to PROG
- Enter:

Correct programming => one beep

Insert dialling-delay:
A dialling delay is sometimes necessary if you are connected to
a private exchange (e.g. hotel) to
make sore that the private exchange does not miss one of the digits
of the alarm number.
Program your alarm number as follows:
First digit (to get external line) +

Flash-pulse (R/F):
If you’re private exchange needs a flash-pulse to start connection,
you have to program the alarm-

Because bébétel® and EasyAlarm® are very sensitive
on position HIGH (III) it is possible to supervise
two rooms next to each other. You can place the alarm-unit between
the two rooms, letting the doors
open! Please check sensitivity by doing some noise activities.
If the two rooms are not close enough you can always use two bébétel®/EasyAlarm®
in parallel.

Does Bébétel
cause electrical smog ? |

No. bébétel®/EasyAlarm® units alarm over the
telephone network and not like classical Babyphones
over radio. That’s the reason why bébétel®/EasyAlarm®
units are the most harmless baby control
instruments on the market. = > Test winner in OEKOTEST (May/June
2000).
